After opening on Kahului’s Dairy Road back in 1982, the little convenience store paved the way for more than a dozen other stores on the valley isle and Hawaii Island. Known as the very first island pump-and-go eatery, for on-the-go workers and travelers to gas-up then grab hot food items and run, the locally owned and operated station also prides itself with being a friendly stop that always serves lots of aloha.
From the Wake & Take breakfast menu, to the world famous Minit Stop Fried Chicken, Wedges and Wedgies these local staples are made fresh, always seasoned perfectly and offer the perfect combination of texture, flavor and served with a smile. When I first heard about the addicting snacks and meals, I was in aw of the potato wedge fandom. People from all across the globe would travel thousands of miles to try something that was a simple potato cut and fried. But once it hits your lips and the additional possible flavor combinations will leave you wanting more.
Ask someone for the secret menu and they will tell you it is a local specialty. When you combine certain elements like the hurricane topping from the Wedgies with the fried chicken, a bento or even a musubi (with the fried goodness) the combination can be earth shattering. Keep in mind this isn’t heart healthy food, but it sure is delicious.
