HC&S Worker Reportedly Electrocuted While Fixing Power Line

Maui Police Department Kahului patrol officers were assigned to North Firebreak Road off of Haleakala Highway in Kahului to investigate a report that an HC&S worker was electrocuted while fixing a power line just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, officers found a 61-year-old male unresponsive.

Authorities say an AED was used on the victim however the victim remained unresponsive.

Maui Fire Department medics and fire personnel arrived shortly afterwards to continue lifesaving efforts.

The victim was subsequently transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

Police say the unidentified male’s condition has since stabilized.

The incident remains under investigation.
