Woman Rescued from Maliko Gulch

At 6:57 p.m. on Wednesday, Maui Fire Department firefighters were called to reports of a fisherman who fell approximately 25 feet off a cliff edge.

Engine 2 (Paia) and Rescue 10 responded.

On scene, units located the victim on the east side of Maliko Gulch, 25 feet down a cliff and clinging to a tree with a 100 foot drop below. Crews used a rope system to quickly secure and raise the victim to safety.

The 35-year-old female Maui resident was evaluated by Medics and declined any medical treatment.
