American Savings Bank on Friday celebrated the grand opening of its new flagship location on the island of Maui. The Kahului Campus is located in the Maui Business Park, across from Target and in front of Lowe’s Home Improvement at 150 Ho‘okele Street.
“We are pleased to welcome the Maui community to our brand new campus in Kahului,” said Rich Wacker, president and CEO of ASB. “At ASB, we understand that our customers are busy and working hard. This is why we are committed to making banking easy by investing in our branches and facilities, such as our new flagship location on Maui.”
The Kahului Campus features a brand new branch with a two-lane drive-through teller line, ample parking and convenient hours, open seven days a week. The branch team is led by branch manager Aaron Acpal and assistant branch manager Danell Kanae.
ASB’s Kahului Campus also includes training facilities, with a breakroom and outdoor lanai, available to all bank teammates on the island. The building is the first on Maui designed from the ground up to feature View Dynamic Glass, a digitally connected glass that intelligently tints to control glare and heat to create a more comfortable environment for customers and teammates.
Kahu Laki Ka‘ahumanu conducted a traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony at the Campus, preceded by remarks from special guests Lynn Araki-Regan, Chief of Staff for Mayor Alan Arakawa, on behalf of the County of Maui and Hawai‘i State Representative Justin Woodsen on behalf of the Maui House Delegation. Proclamations were also provided by the Office of the Governor and the Maui Senate Delegation.
During the grand opening celebration, ASB announced a charitable donation of $3,000 to Partners in Development Foundation (PIDF), a local nonprofit that has made an impact on the Valley Isle and throughout the state of Hawai‘i for over 20 years. PIDF inspires and equips communities for success using Native Hawaiian values and traditions by developing and implementing programs to address the needs of at-risk groups within the community.
In addition to the Kahului Campus, ASB recently opened a new branch in Kapolei on O‘ahu. The bank currently has several additional development projects underway, including the construction of a new branch to serve the Kalihi community and the brand new ASB Campus in downtown Honolulu, which will bring together approximately 600 teammates from five locations on O‘ahu in an innovative, collaborative workplace. The O‘ahu Campus will also include a bank branch. ASB anticipates completing construction on the ASB Campus towards the end of 2018, with opening slated for early 2019.
