The Tiki Terrace Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet is unlike any other I have seen in Hawaii. I would say it is more like a Vegas-style buffet with its magnitude options from pastries, fresh fruits, raw bar, carving station, multiple dessert tables, huge salad bar, hot dishes, fresh seafood, omelets and more. You might think these are your typical buffet choices, but the shear portion size and the diversity of the dishes is what impressed me. It wasn’t the crab legs, oysters and heaping mounds of shrimp cocktail, it was the many variations of fresh authentic poke, the over abundance of homemade local cakes and the impressive variety of hot pans (literally too many to taste and count).
Then you move on to the Prime Rib, sushi, soft shell crab, pipikaula, fresh poi, chocolate fountain and bottomless mimosas! My stomach was not prepared for such gluttony. Alas I paced myself and stuck to the things I wanted most – poke, crab, shrimp and dessert. At the price point of $48 for adults (includes server poured mimosas) and $25 keiki 6-12 years-old (children under 5 eat free with a paying adult) this really was well worth the value, the quality and the decadence.
Overall, the bounty of the food options paired with the entertainment and touches of the aloha spirit made us feel right at home in Hawaii. Many local people come here to enjoy the food, the music and best of all be with family.
