Heavy rains prompt Flood Warning on Maui

At 1:51 PM, radar indicated heavy rain across southwest Haleakala slopes on Maui. Rain was falling at a rate in excess of 3 inches per hour. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.  Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Ulupalakua, Keokea, Wailea, Makena, Kihei and Kula.

The National Weather Service has ISSUED FLASH FLOOD WARNING for MAUI ISLAND in effect until 4:45 pm.
