A woman was airlifted from the west end of Maliko Bay in Haiku on Friday.

Maui Fire Department crews arrived on scene and made their way down a steep trail to a rocky point where the 35-year-old fisherwoman fell approximately five feet.

Crews assessed the woman before placing her on a backboard and in a basket for extrication. She was airlifted to a landing zone near the east entrance to Hookipa Beach Park.

Medics took her to Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
