Cold Front, Rain and Snow Prompt Winter Storm Warnings for Haleakala Summit

Deep moisture along a front will be over Maui tonight and early Friday, producing periods of rain, snow and freezing rain.

The National Weather Service has ISSUED a WINTER STORM WARNING for the HALEAKALASUMMIT in effect until noon Friday.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Any travel plans to the summits should be postponed until the threat diminishes.
