Missing Snorkeler Found Unresponsive

The Maui Fire Department responded to a report of a missing snorkeler off Kapalua Bay on Friday afternoon.

Rescue personnel located the 63-year-old North Carolina man unresponsive approximately 100 to 150-feet offshore at around 4 p.m.

Despite lifesaving effort on shore by awaiting medics and fire personnel. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

MFD utilized jetski units, rescue swimmers, and Air 1 in the search.
