At 8:44 am, radar indicated bands of heavy rain moving over the windward slopes of Haleakala from Kipahulu to Haiku. These bands have been most intense between Hana and Keanae with rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Stream levels in the area are running higher than normal.
